Doing the Right Thing the Wrong Way

In this Bible study from 2 Samuel 6, Pastor Art Snow contrasts David’s attempt to bring the ark of the covenant to Jerusalem on a cart with God’s commanded way of carrying it. Drawing on Exodus and Leviticus, he underscores how seriously God takes His instructions for holiness, showing how Uzzah’s death resulted from irreverence and disobedience, even with seemingly good intentions. Art highlights David’s own struggle with anger and fear in response, followed by joy and celebration when he finally obeyed and had the ark carried properly. The study also addresses Michal’s despising of David’s worship and the consequences of her words. Pastor Art concludes that obedience means not only knowing what to do, but also doing it God’s way, urging believers to pray for guidance, walk the narrow path, and live as obedient children who do the right thing in the right way.
