21 Day Fast Towards Divine Nature

Day 16 Fasting ambition. Luke 22:23-27

There is nothing worse than 12 ambition men in the same room. Jesus was sharing his last meal with them before going to the cross. He had already broken the bread and shared the wine then he broke the sad news to them that one of them would betray Him. They first began talking about who it could be but before you knew it they were arguing about who among them was the greatest. 

Their master was just hours from being arrested and taken to two mock trials, followed by a cruel form of capital punishment, and all they could think about was their own personal ambition. Who was greater than who, and who would sit on the right and left hand of Jesus in Heaven. The ambitious dozen were so preoccupied with themselves they were missing precious minutes with Jesus, I wonder if this happens to us? Do we sometimes get so wrapped up in chasing our ambitious goals we miss precious minutes and hours with Jesus. Today is a good day to fast ambition and rest in the arms of our Savior.
