21 Day Fast Towards Divine Nature

Day 15 Fasting the approval of men. John 12:42-43

This is such an interesting text, many of the rulers were believing in Jesus, but keeping it on the down-low. They were not speaking of their new found faith for fear of losing their place in the Synagogue. We are told the loved the approval of men, rather than the approval of God. 

They represent many people today who are ashamed of Jesus because they need mans approval, always looking for acknowledgment from their peers. You know the type, they read their Bible on their lunch break, but it’s wrapped up in a false cover so it looks like they are reading a novel. Or they hide their relationship with God behind the phrase “you should never talk about religion or politics”. 

Today is a good day to fast the approval of men and live Jesus OUT LOUD. I am not talking about shoving it down anyones throat, but just not being ashamed of the man who died on the cross for you. The Bible tells us “the righteous are as bold as a lion” so let’s all stop being small purring kittys and walk in the footsteps of our Lion of Judah.
