21 Day Fast Towards Divine Nature

Day 11 Fasting your self-hate. Matthew 22:34-40

The Pharisees were doing what the Pharisees were always doing attempting to trip Jesus up. They asked him to make a choice of which one of the 613 laws in the Old Testament was the most important. As always Jesus flipped the script on these “holy men”, He quoted Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 19:19 upon these two verses hang the entire law. To love God first with all of your heart mind and strength then love your neighbor as yourself. The problem with this proposition is many people do not love themselves correctly so they are unable to love others properly. The Bible says you are fearfully and wonderfully made skillfully wrought from the depths of the earth, and you are lovely in His sight. Today is a good day to fast self hate and to recognize you bear the image of God. I challenge you to look in the mirror and see God, not your shortcomings but God. As soon as you can do that you will be looking for mirrors all day long, go ahead and love yourself.
