Day 2 Fasting an earthly view. Matthew 19:13-15

Jesus was traveling from Galilee to Judea, when he encountered a group of Pharisees who began testing him. As they were in dialogue with Jesus a group of pesky  children happened along wanting of all things to sit on the Masters lap. The righteous 12 would have nothing to do with this intrusion, after all didn’t these kids know the old saying,”kids are to be seen and not heard?”

The mighty 12 could only see through earthly eyes, and make earthly decisions. But Jesus put the holy 12 in their place and beckoned the children to come and sit upon his lap. The disciples saw through earthly eyes, while Christ saw through the eyes of His Father’s kingdom.

Who could have known that one of those children would be taken under John’s wing and later be the Bishop of Antioch. His name was Ignatius of Antioch also known as “Theophorus” meaning “God Bearer”. He would be drug to Rome to be fed to the lions for his faith in Christ. On his way to The Coliseum he would write several letters to the churches which I still have in my library today.

Today is a good day to fast our earthly view and adopt a Kingdom of God view. It starts with a simple prayer, go ahead and say it now, Lord Jesus I submit my view to the Holy Spirit, allow me to see as you see, Amen.
